I have been using the services of Family Nexus almost 3 years, and I am so thankful for this company. There are not many services like this in Alberta, but this one is the best by far! Especially, because this is the only company that will allow you to visit your children in the comfort of your own home. I’ve also used a couple other companies like this (Family Connections etc.) and they are not willing to accommodate special requests, like Family Nexus will. Colleen and her staff have always been so helpful, and caring towards my child. They’ve always accommodated our needs, when special situations come up (like birthdays and holidays), without hesitation. This company is a God-send, because without them, I wouldn’t have any relationship with my child. Thanks Colleen to you and all your staff for always being there for us!
It is unfortunate that parents have to be supervised because of abuse, domestic violence and/or alienating by one or both of the parents. Ms Rice and her employees are trained to look out for the children, know what it means to put the children first, and know what is in the best interests of the children even when the parents do not. Ms Rice and her staff have answered questions and given requested advice that helps tremendously in stressful situations that have helped all of us. There should be more people like her and her staff because without them, the only ones who are hurt are the children.
Colleen’s service paired me with a great worker named Celeste, who made our first visit in Edmonton fun, light and full of positive memories. I can’t say enough good things about Celeste, she made the experience enjoyable for everyone involved!
Colleen Rice is a real life hero to the children and families she works with. She runs her business alongside of working full time and she has her own family. She works tirelessly 7 days a week to protect children so they are shielded from the problems that the adults around them have. She is brilliant and kind and has given our lawyer the expert advice that he needed to end our nightmare easily. She oversees and teaches her staff to help kids and families with the same compassion and strength she has. If there were more people like Colleen the world would be a better place. 5 stars is not a high enough rating for Family Nexus!!
When I was in need of a visitation supervisor I used the services provided by Ms. Rice of Family Nexus. I found Ms. Rice to be professional, personable, and very knowledgeable in her field. Without the services provided by Family Nexus, I might have gone close to a year without seeing my newborn daughter while custody and access was being sorted out in court. I cannot thank Ms. Rice and Family Nexus enough for making it possible for me to remain in my young daughter’s life during that very trying time.
I am so very thankful for this site! I have received some great advice that has helped in some very difficult situation. Travelling the waters of a messy divorce and trying to coparent has been a stressful adventure. The sound advice and to have people going through the same things is relieving.
We are currently using Colleen Rice’s company Family Nexus Inc to supervise visits for my 3 year old son and his father. They pick up my son at our home and bring him to his father’s house for a 3 hour visit, then bring him home again after. We started using Colleen’s services last summer in 2016 shortly after my son turned 2. Colleen personally supervised a number of the visits. She and her workers have been amazing with him! Colleen has also been a great help when it comes to guiding me in child development with my son and our situation. She has let me know what signs to look for, and how to help him if it appears he is being affected. This was my biggest struggle and fear, so I am grateful to Colleen for helping me with this!
